Text Box: The detail

This seven storey round tower was completed in June 2004 with a mix of flats ranging from 1 bedroom through to 3 bedroom. There is a lift which gives access to all floors and secure door entry system.
All windows are triple glazed and the insulation is to a very high specification which will reduce the need for the total control heating .
Situated in a wooded area close to the leisure centre, doctors surgery and local shops. Rothesay town centre is within 15 minutes walking distance.
This spectacular building, designed by Aberdeen architect Gökay Deveci, named A’Chrannag (‘Crow’s nest’), is the Isle of Bute’s newest housing development. All 14 homes are rental properties for local housing association Fyne Homes Ltd.
A'Chrannag won a Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) award in June 2005 and also features in the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS)  10/10 - Buildings that Made A Difference, RIAS Festival Exhibition for August 2005.  Please visit Our News to find out more about these awards
